Meet Matter Video
We bring at least two videographers to every wedding we film. Dan films each wedding alongside one of the amazing humans below. We occasionally have an intern, but we will always chat with you before we bring additional team members.

Dan Bowen
I started Matter Video because I am passionate about people and making videos. I want to make videos that matter (I promise that is the only time I will use that play on words in this section). My goal is to create videos that capture moments and stories that are significant to you: your wedding day, your organization, your company, your story. I have been making videos since 2000 and I teach Leadership at a local high school. When I am not making videos, I like to travel and spend time with my wife and 3 kids. They are much cuter than me.

Tony Santoro
Tony has been working with Matter Video for several years. He is a graphic designer with a creative eye for detail and an inclination toward the aesthetic. He loves people, art, science (he used to work as surgeon in a lab…for real) and is also quite the conversationalist. When he's not shooting weddings, you may find him flying his drone on the weekends with his wife and sons or selling houses as a realtor. He is the type of person everyone would like to have as a friend and, lucky for you, there’s a good chance he will help film your wedding!

Travis Bell
Travis has been working as a 2nd shooter/Assistant for Matter Video for several years. His laid back personality and excellent eye make him a perfect addition to the Matter team. He is often mistaken for Dan’s brother, but as far as we know they are not related. Travis loves traveling, is passionate about people, coffee, the Bay Area (he knows SF and Oakland like the back of his hand) and enjoys going to Truckee with his wife, Lindsay, and kids, Daivy, Quinn, and Walker. You will love him. Trust us.

Johnny Lee
Johnny is a real life hero. He is a medic in the US Army and he knows his way around a camera. When he's not shooting weddings and portraits for his company Heart & Seeker, or saving the world as an Army medic, he lends his skills to us as a videographer. You will love working with Johnny and, if you're extra nice to him, he may even make you a pretty amazing cappuccino.

Ari Lavey
Ari is the mom of the Matter Video team, in that she is the only mom on the team. We may be biased since we filmed her wedding, but we think she brings life to every room she enters. She teaches elementary school kids by day and films weddings by night (and also by day, but we were trying to sound clever).

Luke Martin
Luke isn’t just a guy with amazing hair. What if we told you he is also an incredible filmmaker? Luke is a student of cinema and audio (he’s a drummer in a really cool band - Google: Woke Up Older) and is among the most personable people you will ever meet. Fun fact…Luke is incredible at memorizing names and usually knows the whole wedding party by name within minutes.
