Eight years ago, this lovely couple got married and started their amazing family. Now a family of 6, the couple decided to renew their vows in an intimate ceremony among friends and family at St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA. Most couples wait many years to renew their vows, but there was something special about the freshness of the couple’s ceremony and their love that was so evident. The ceremony The March vow renewal was followed by a beautiful dinner reception at Postino restaurant in Lafayette. Hopefully they do something like this every 8 years so we can be a part of it!

We purchased a DJI Inspire 1 this week and took it out for its first test flight yesterday. We have been using the DJI Phantom 2 and a GoPro Hero Black 3+ since May and it has become a staple part of our video projects. From weddings to non-profit videos, we always seem to find a way to sneak it in.

One of the reasons we purchased the Inspire was its ability to shoot 4K video and the seamless FPV integration with DJI’s iOS app. The iPhone (iPad Mini on its way) allows for sharp 1080p monitoring up to 2km, which is crazy. Our FPV setup on the Phantom 2 (P2) only allowed for a clear (non HD) picture at around 500ft.

The P2 and GoPro setup was nice, but having an all-in-one unit like the Inspire is a game-changer. I love the GoPro, but the image on the Inspire’s 4k camera, and the ability to modify the camera settings while it’s in the air, makes this unit about 10 times more useful for us.

We primarily use the drone for weddings and it produced some amazing images for our couples last year. Here are some highlights from 2014.

The Inspire is much larger and more aggressive than the P2, which means there’s going to be a bit of a learning curve. We took it out for a spin yesterday, but the rain cut things short. Here is a quick take of our first flight.

I can’t wait to master this amazing piece of technology. Connect with us on Twitter and Instagram and share your thoughts.

If you could choose the weather and picturesque backdrop for your wedding day, it would probably look something like the beautiful November day the Lynch’s were wed. Between the ceremony at St. Mary’s and the lovely Fall reception at Blackhawk Country Club, Chris and Tara’s wedding was near perfect. As an added bonus, having gelato and a live band at your wedding are the ideal way to keep your guests content. Shoutout to our friends at Lindsay Lauren Events for arranging the details for this great couple.

Thomas and Addie were married in beautiful Monterey, in late September. Thomas, a police officer, shared his handwritten vows with lovely Addie in a beautiful Monterey courtyard. The couple was treated to one of the funniest best man speeches we’ve heard in a long time and they were fortunate to spend the day getting ready and celebrating at the beautiful Pasadera Country Club. This wedding video is one of our favorites from this season. Thomas and Addie are the best!

If you were to Google Todd Hamilton, you would likely find his tech blog, info about the iWatch and various musings about world of technology and the internet. Having spent the day with Todd and his wife Rosie, we can attest that there is much more to him (and the couple) than a simple Google search can drum up. Rosie and Todd’s wedding featured one of the most beautiful wedding and reception site we filmed this season. Their family and friends enjoyed a beautiful day in the Napa Valley and danced the night away with the best wedding band we’ve ever seen/heard (no joke). From the lovely first look at a vintage Napa home to the ceremony, dinner, and evening party, the Hamilton’s wedding was among our favorites.

On August 31, Ben and Nicole shared their wedding vows under a canopy of pine trees on the Tahoe shore. The setting could not have been more magical. The outdoor ceremony featured perfect weather and fun details that accentuated Tahoe’s aesthetic. There’s something special about the mountains and getting married on the bank of such a beautiful lake. Ben and Nicole’s wedding was the perfect way to end the summer.

Van Zant Wedding Movie

On a warm summer day in Calistoga, Zack and Stacy Van Zant made their love official in front of their closest friends and family. With the help of Off the Beaten Path Weddings, they put together a lovely, country-tinged wedding. The reception featured a bluegrass band, indoor and outdoor dancing and some of the most incredible wedding scenery we have come across. The Van Zant’s love story was a lot of fun to capture on a beautiful July day.

Guajardo Wedding Highlights

What do you get when you mix a Latin American groom, a Jordanian bride, and a beautiful Greek Orthodox church in San Francisco? If you guessed the “Guajara wedding,” you are correct. On a unseasonably cold July day, Irene and Zzane shared their vows in front of a large gathering of family and friends. To say that this wedding was fun would be an understatement. From the traditional ceremony, to the mariachi band and candle dance, the Guajara wedding was one that we will never forget.

Failla Wedding Movie

Nick and Gina are both nurses and are among the kindest couples I have been around. In fact, if I ever get injured I hope it’s somewhere near their hospital because I have a feeling they take great care of their patients. Their May 30 ceremony at Palm Event Center was a near perfect day for this San Diego couple. It was a fun celebration of family and friends, which also featured some of the best dancers I’ve seen at a wedding in a long time.
