11 and 13. That’s how old Stephen and Megan were when they started “going out.” Fast forward 15 years and the couple tied the night at Ruby Hill among a lively gathering of family and friends. Many aspects of the day stood out, but the surprise dance Stephen and his roughly 100 groomsmen performed at the reception may have been the highlight. As Megan said in her vows, love is a struggle and it’s a matter of choosing who you are going to struggle with. I think the two of them chose wisely. We had a lot of fun with the Eguilos family.

Saratoga Springs is the perfect blend of fun and beauty, which is also a pretty apt description of Michael and Lisa. On May 29, the Liens tied the knot among the picturesque trees and a creeks of Saratoga. Prior to their sparkler exit, the couple (along with their friends and family) danced the night away under a canopy of lights. Weddings don’t get much better than this.

Darby and Joe are big soccer fans. In fact, it’s where they met. The two were married on February 13 in Napa in front of family, friends, and former soccer coaches and teammates. Before they headed off to their England honeymoon to see their beloved Manchester United play, they spend the night dancing and partying. The sunset was beautiful and the couple couldn’t stop smiling. We love these types of weddings.

When you picture the 4th of July, you probably envision sparklers, fireworks, and fun with your friends and family. Well picture all of those things wrapped into a lovely Napa wedding at Brix Restaurant on Independence Day, 2015. The Francesconi’s wedding was just plane fun. The weather was perfect and the setting was hard to beat. Meghan asked that her wedding video not be “overly sappy.” She wanted a fun video. She asked, we delivered. Congrats to Meghan and Justin.

Eight years ago, this lovely couple got married and started their amazing family. Now a family of 6, the couple decided to renew their vows in an intimate ceremony among friends and family at St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA. Most couples wait many years to renew their vows, but there was something special about the freshness of the couple’s ceremony and their love that was so evident. The ceremony The March vow renewal was followed by a beautiful dinner reception at Postino restaurant in Lafayette. Hopefully they do something like this every 8 years so we can be a part of it!

Thanks to some amazing voters, we were named as the Bay Area A-List’s Best Wedding Videographer. Over 30,000 people voted in the annual Bay Area competition and we were honored to win. Thank you to everyone who voted. We are excited to work with all of our amazing couples in 2015. It’s going to be a great wedding season!

Here are some of the nice things people had to say.

We purchased a DJI Inspire 1 this week and took it out for its first test flight yesterday. We have been using the DJI Phantom 2 and a GoPro Hero Black 3+ since May and it has become a staple part of our video projects. From weddings to non-profit videos, we always seem to find a way to sneak it in.

One of the reasons we purchased the Inspire was its ability to shoot 4K video and the seamless FPV integration with DJI’s iOS app. The iPhone (iPad Mini on its way) allows for sharp 1080p monitoring up to 2km, which is crazy. Our FPV setup on the Phantom 2 (P2) only allowed for a clear (non HD) picture at around 500ft.

The P2 and GoPro setup was nice, but having an all-in-one unit like the Inspire is a game-changer. I love the GoPro, but the image on the Inspire’s 4k camera, and the ability to modify the camera settings while it’s in the air, makes this unit about 10 times more useful for us.

We primarily use the drone for weddings and it produced some amazing images for our couples last year. Here are some highlights from 2014.

The Inspire is much larger and more aggressive than the P2, which means there’s going to be a bit of a learning curve. We took it out for a spin yesterday, but the rain cut things short. Here is a quick take of our first flight.

I can’t wait to master this amazing piece of technology. Connect with us on Twitter and Instagram and share your thoughts.

Thomas and Addie were married in beautiful Monterey, in late September. Thomas, a police officer, shared his handwritten vows with lovely Addie in a beautiful Monterey courtyard. The couple was treated to one of the funniest best man speeches we’ve heard in a long time and they were fortunate to spend the day getting ready and celebrating at the beautiful Pasadera Country Club. This wedding video is one of our favorites from this season. Thomas and Addie are the best!

If you were to Google Todd Hamilton, you would likely find his tech blog, info about the iWatch and various musings about world of technology and the internet. Having spent the day with Todd and his wife Rosie, we can attest that there is much more to him (and the couple) than a simple Google search can drum up. Rosie and Todd’s wedding featured one of the most beautiful wedding and reception site we filmed this season. Their family and friends enjoyed a beautiful day in the Napa Valley and danced the night away with the best wedding band we’ve ever seen/heard (no joke). From the lovely first look at a vintage Napa home to the ceremony, dinner, and evening party, the Hamilton’s wedding was among our favorites.

Aerial Videography Highlights

In the Spring of 2014, we purchased a DJI Phantom 2 and have since incorporated it into most of the videos we produce. Needless to say it has added a unique element to our wedding and corporate videos and has become a staple feature for our clients. One of the producers we often work with asked us to put together some highlights from this year.
