They say you should always save the best for last and, considering the Herron’s celebration was our final wedding of the year, we definitely finished 2016 on a high note. Chris and Clarissa’s beautiful fall Casa Real wedding was the perfect way to complete our wedding season. We had an amazing time with the Herron’s and we couldn’t have picked a better couple for our 30th, and final, wedding of 2016.

When things don’t go as planned, there are a couple ways you can respond: You can freak out and act like the sky is falling or you can look at the cup as being half full and make the best of what you have. Well, Troy and Allie’s wedding didn’t necessarily go as they expected. They found out at 2:15pm, via email, that their priest would not be able to officiate their ceremony. Luckily, an hour later, a priest (aka the hero, Father Tom) offered to conduct the ceremony and the Channings lived happily ever after. We love fall weddings and Troy and Allie’s laid back November wedding was a dream.

If you haven’t been to Arizona, you should go. Sedona is there. Four Corners and Horseshoe Bend are there. The Grand Canyon is there. And, in October, Lena and Ryan happened to be there too and their wedding was pretty much the best. Flagstaff was the perfect setting for this couple. It has a bit of country, an extra helping of the outdoors, and romance to spare. We enjoyed the heck out of our time with the Washburn’s and we think their film is pretty dang fun too.

No, this isn’t an episode of Friday night lights. It’s the real life love story of Danny and Lanni Jones. Danny, a varsity football coach and teacher at a local high school married the love of his life, Lanni, who also happens to be a teacher, at Clos La Chance Winery in San Martin. We’re pretty sure the two of them had smiles on their faces from the beginning of the day until their bubble exit. Danny said the wedding was the best football play he had ever drawn up, and we can’t help but agree.

Words like “nice” and “kind” get thrown around a lot when describing folks and it’s easy to see why; there are a lot of nice people in this world. That being said, I think I can honestly say that Adam and Sunee are two of the nicest people we’ve ever worked with. They just exude kindness. Adam is a former Video Production student of mine and we have spent bunch of time together shooting weddings over the years. I always wondered about the girl he would end up with, because she would have to be pretty special to get a dude like him and he found his perfect match in Sunee. With San Francisco’s Marin Headlands providing the backdrop, the Hillyer’s began the next chapter in the love story and we were lucky to be a part of it.
