There was a time (last week) when you could Google that term (this blog post’s title) and you would then find Matter Video among the first couple of pages of results. Then…we got hacked. Our site was up and down for a couple days and, to be honest, this ordeal may not be over. It screwed up our SEO a bit and was just a bummer experience (and costly) overall. If you are a small business owner and have a website, get it secured with a firewall. Also, if you see me around you can offer me a hug. I may need one.

On the positive side of things, our wedding season is ramping up and we have a lot of fun in store. Our fun cannot be hacked!

Paul and Christina have a pretty amazing family. The Sopers and their 4 kids spent the day together getting ready, celebrating, eating good food, and dancing the night away. The couple started 2018 off right with their friends and extended family in San Ramon. Also, quick note: all weddings should have good coffee. Shoutout to our pals at Story Coffee!

Two years in a row we have kicked off our wedding season at the Fairmont in San Francisco and we wouldn’t have it any other way. There’s something magical about weddings in the city and JB and Stephanie’s wedding set a pretty high bar for the rest of the year. The Harrell’s are an absolutely amazing couple and we had so much fun with their friends and family. The preparations and ceremony may have taken place at the historic Fairmont (same place Steph’s parents got married!), but the ceremony itself was at Saint Peter and Paul Church just down the road from the hotel. Several generations of Firenze’s have gotten married at the beautiful Italian church and it was pretty special to capture the tradition as it continued.

We wrapped up our 2017 wedding season in the best possible way. Joseph and Ana‘s December wedding ended up being one of our favorites of the year. We’ve seen a lot of amazing reactions when a groom sees his bride for the first time, but Joseph‘s is probably our favorite we’ve filmed (you should check it out). The couples love was so apparent and their energy and joy throughout the day was infectious. I’ve said it before, but we love winter weddings and the Pelina’s celebration was the perfect way to a wonderful wedding season.

Sometimes a couple just makes sense. You meet them individually and then see them together and it all clicks. Diego and Erin are a couple like that. We had so much fun at their late February Palm Event Center wedding. From the emotional ceremony to the party atmosphere of the reception, we really couldn’t have asked for a better day. Heck, even the weather cooperated.

Let’s start with the black wedding dress. When Jennie was a little girl she wasn’t sure if she would end up getting married. She didn’t know if it was for her. However, she did know that if she did end up getting married she wanted to wear a black wedding dress. Jordan and Jennie’s wedding day was different in the best way possible. From their intimate wedding ceremony to the steakhouse reception, the Ribera’s gathering of close friends and family is a celebration we will always remember. Seriously. It was the best.

Mike and Tori’s San Francisco wedding was the perfect way to kick off our 2017 season. It’s hard to beat the elegance of an evening wedding at City Hall. The day begin at the amazing Fairmont Hotel (we love that place) and ended with a beautiful gathering of family and friends in the city’s civic center. Seriously. So dang pretty. We loved being a part of the Aranda’s SF celebration and we think you’ll love their film.

In terms of the weddings we have shot in 2015, this one is pretty unique. You see, the groom (Tyler) happens to be my wife’s little brother and I have known him since he was 5 years old. I’ve watched him grow up and had a front-row seat as Tyler and Brittany began dating and moved toward marriage. Technically, as a groomsmen, I also had a pretty good vantage point at their wedding as well. It is always fun putting someone’s wedding video together, but there is something extra special when you know all of the guests at the wedding, your kids are the flower girl and ring bearer, and the bride and groom are family. October 24 will always stand out as a special day for our family and I hope that this video will help commemorate such an amazing event.

There’s something pretty magical about St. Mary’s. Whether it’s the location at the base of the Moraga hills, which always seem to have these perfectly fluffy clouds resting on them or the gorgeous architecture of the campus’ church building, this place is pretty much the best. Brent and Gina (a St. Mary’s grad), picked a perfect October day to tie the knot among a festival gathering of family and friends. Gina let us know that her guests would be ready to dance at the reception and she was correct. It was a party.

You know those weddings that you see in the movies? The ones where the bride dresses like a princess, wears glass slippers, and arrives at her ceremony in a horse-drawn carriage? You know those fairytale movies where the couple gets married on the cliffs overlooking the ocean? Turns out, this happens in real life as well. On October 4, David and Sandy made their love official in front of friends and family at the beautiful Ritz Carlton, Half Moon Bay. It was a day steeped in tradition and rich in love. It was also pretty dang pretty.
