Wedding Season!

In my world there are 5 seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall and Wedding Season. Wedding Season is that time of year where flowers are beginning to blossom, small children are learning to carry rings on fancy pillows, and matrimonial love is in the air. We have a wedding next week and our calendar is pretty full from mid-May until November. We do have some open dates if you are still looking for a wedding videographer. A good friend of mine (Zakk) hired me to shoot a music video is San Francisco. We shot on a rainy night in the city and the video came out pretty cool. Enjoy.

Monvera Bottle Décor

Last week I shot a video for Monvera Bottle Décor in Richmond. Monvera is a paperless bottle labeling company and it ended up being one of my favorite places I have been able to shoot in the Bay Area. I got to ride a fork lift. Enough said. The factory provided a wide array of visuals including brightly colored paints, fire, iridescent bottles and machinery. It was like an Instagrammers paradise. This video is going to be used to promote Monvera at trade shows. There may be some modifications to the video in the future, but enjoy this “first draft.”

Dale/Rotary/Monvera

This week we did 3 different shoots. On Tuesday/Wednesday, we worked alongside Splurge Catering to shoot music videos (“Gangnam Style” and “Call Me Maybe”) for Dale Hardware’s (Fremont, CA) Christmas party. Dale went all out for their party as they hired a choreographer to teach their employees the dance and also a vocalist to re-record the lyrics to “Call Me Maybe.” The video and shoot were interesting to say the least. We also shot a video for the 75th anniversary of the Niles Canyon Rotary.

We also shot at Monvera (a paperless bottle labeling company) in Richmond. This was one of the more fun shoots that we’ve done, visually and creatively. Their video will be used to promote Monvera at trade shows. The video will be posted shortly.

Weber Wedding Movie

As I’ve said in the past, I really enjoy shooting weddings for friends. It’s a special way to be a part of the wedding like an honorary groomsmen, or a mascot, or a puppy who just sort of follows the groom around…I digress. I have known Ryan since I was a freshman in high school and have had the opportunity to travel with him, play music together and share in a ton of experiences. In short, I know the guy pretty well. It has been great watching his relationship with Chelsea develop. These two just click. The wedding and ceremony took place at the beautiful home of the Pine’s in Alamo, CA. Their home served as the perfect backdrop for Ryan and Chelsea’s big day. I also must mention the food…they had crepe stations. If you are getting married, you too should have crepe stations. Take note! Congrats to Ryan and Chelsea.

Kirkham Wedding Movie

Jon and Kelly were married at St. Catherine’s of Siena Parrish in Martinez on November 3. The picturesque church held the traditional Catholic wedding on an unseasonably warm November day. Kelly and Jon were a lot of fun to work with and the wedding party were quite splendid as well. This was the first wedding I was able to shoot with the Canon 5D mark iii and I couldn’t have picked a better day to break it in. After the ceremony we headed out to the Palm Event Center in Pleasanton’s “wine country.” Yet another beautiful backdrop for an amazing day. Congrats Jon and Kelly!

“That Spirit of Christmas” – Jadon Lavik

Have you noticed the red cups at Starbucks? The Christmas music in the grocery stores? Santa in the mall (no joke)? That means Christmas is but weeks away! That said, you should check out this music video I shot with Jadon Lavik this summer. Jadon (and other So-Cal artists) will be hitting the road this winter for The Christmas Together Tour. We shot this video at a cabin near Saddleback Church in OC. The cabin was actually owned by one of the writers from the High School Musical movies and other Disney Channel gems. The cabin was a perfect backdrop for Jadon’s nostalgic yuletide serenade. The video features footage from Jadon’s childhood and also recent clips from his family. The song is about reminiscing and holding on to memories of Christmas past. Merry Christmas!

Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree

In the summer of 2011, I drove down to Orange County to shoot some music videos for a collection of musicians who were set to go on tour. These musicians have since become friends and I was fortunate enough to be able head back to south in July to shoot some more videos for them. The artists (Jadon Lavik, Evan Wickham, Paul Wright, PawnShop kings, Molly Jenson, Dominic Balli and Tim Timmons) are set to head out on the 3rd annual A Christmas Together Tour in December. They are using these music video to promote their tour.

The music video shoot took place in over 10 locations, including San Clemente, Laguna Niguel, Hollywood, and Calabasas. Shooting in Southern California is never a chore. Coordinating schedules and locations was a bit crazy, but the final product came out pretty well. Black and white filters were fun to mess with.

Next up we will post intro videos for each artist and “The Spirit of Christmas” music video by Jadon Lavik.

Hernbroth Wedding Movie

We have been fortunate enough to have shot a lot of beautiful wedding, but this event may stand near the top of the list. Every once in a while a day comes together and combines the perfect venue, wedding party, guests and of course, the bride and groom. In this case, Ryan and Calen’s wedding at Oak Farm Vineyards in Lodi, was the perfect blend of everything. Great weather, location and an extremely photogenic wedding party. Couldn’t have asked for a better shooting experience!

Schooley Wedding Movie

The Schooleys were married on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Ruby Hill in Pleasanton. Lauren and Chris were a lot of fun to work with and the event was beautiful. The “first look” under the tree was a highlight of the day for sure. Lauren and Chris’ both have children who were involved throughout the day. We love kids! The wedding party and location were perfect. It was a great thing to be a part of.
